It's been 3 days since I spilled water (more like chinese tea!) onto my laptop and water seeped into my monitor. It was an accident, really! In a nutshell, only my LCD screen told tales on me, looks like someone spit on my screen. hahha.. it's slowly drying up and now the 'ball of spit' is getting smaller.
Was tempted to open up the monitor casing to wipe off the excess water on the inside. But then again, this laptop doesn't belong to me so better to let it dry off slowly.
A true moment of insanity, i didn't empty the thermal cup i wanted to take to work. Just shoved it into the side pocket of my laptop knapsack and put the bag standing upright in the back seat while I drove to work. A true genius, I know.
I was horrified when I discovered my bag and laptop were wet. Quickly, wiped off the water, open the casing and laptop screen was slightly wet. Tried to boot it up. I couldn't see anyting on the screen. Wait a minute, squint a little and you could see the name of the OS in the back. Oh no, why is my screen blacked out?
One small consolation, the laptop works! The screen slowly fizzled and cleared up, so I could see my screen as usual, except for the 'wet' look. Like water was cascading in the background. Fortunately, no nosy parkers asked me about it over the last 3 days. The screen now has a small splatter compared to 75% on day one.
The things I do....
Oh and while searching for tips on what to do online, I found out other people have spilt worser things on their laptops e.g Coke, chicken soup (which they reaaaallly wanted to eat), chocolate milkshake etc. Some survived, some didn't.
